Tel Aviv: US President Donald Trump, speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One ahead of his arrival in Israel, revealed that he would be “proud” to visit Gaza, signaling his interest in seeing the region firsthand.
“I know it so well without visiting,” Trump said. “I’d like to do it, I’d like to put my feet on it at least,” he added, expressing a personal wish to witness the territory directly, despite years of following developments from afar.
Trump also reflected on the long-term prospects for Gaza, emphasizing caution and strategic patience. “But I think it’s going to be a great miracle over the coming decades. If you go too fast, it’s not going to be good. You have to go at the right speed, you can’t go too fast,” he said, suggesting that any progress in the region should be gradual and carefully managed to ensure lasting stability.
The remarks provide insight into the US president’s approach to the complex challenges facing Gaza, blending personal interest with an emphasis on measured, deliberate action to support long-term peace and development in the area.
