Bharti Airtel Partners with IBM to Strengthen Cloud Services in India

Mumbai: Bharti Airtel, India’s second-largest telecom operator, has joined forces with IBM to expand its cloud offerings through the newly launched Airtel Cloud platform. This collaboration aims to meet the rising demand for computing capacity, driven by the growth of artificial intelligence technologies and the need for data localization in India.

Under the partnership, Airtel Cloud customers will have access to IBM’s AI-ready servers, designed to support industries with strict data compliance requirements, including banking, healthcare, and government sectors. Additionally, the collaboration will see the creation of two new Multizone Regions in Mumbai and Chennai, ensuring improved data security and operational continuity by spreading infrastructure across multiple locations.

In a related development, Airtel is also working with Google on its $15 billion AI data center project in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. This combined approach is expected to bolster Airtel’s capabilities in cloud computing and artificial intelligence, positioning the company as a key player in India’s rapidly growing digital services market.

The partnership reflects Airtel’s strategy to offer secure, scalable, and AI-ready cloud solutions to enterprises across the country, supporting India’s broader digital transformation goals.
