Thiruvananthapuram: A cyclonic circulation positioned over the southeast Arabian Sea is set to bring scattered rainfall across Kerala on Monday. In response, a yellow alert has been declared for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, and Pathanamthitta, where intermittent light to moderate rain and isolated thunderstorms are anticipated.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has indicated that these conditions may continue, with isolated rain and thundercloud activity likely to persist across the state through tomorrow.
Authorities have also issued a strict warning to fishermen, advising them to avoid venturing into the sea along the Kerala–Lakshadweep coast until November 28. Rough weather conditions are expected today, with wind speeds ranging from 35–45 kmph, occasionally strengthening to 55 kmph over several regions, including the Maldives area, Kanyakumari coast, Gulf of Mannar, the southern Tamil Nadu coastline and its northern stretches, the Sri Lankan coast, and parts of the Andaman Sea, as well as the southeastern and southwestern Bay of Bengal.
