Zelenskiy Announces Imminent Dialogue with US on Framework to End War

Kyiv: President Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced today that high-level discussions between Ukrainian and U.S. officials on a proposed path to end the war with Russia will begin “soon.”

In a national video message, Zelenskiy said the upcoming talks would involve senior representatives from Ukraine’s military, foreign ministry, and intelligence services signaling the seriousness and breadth of the negotiations.

The announcement comes after weeks of tense deliberations and adjustments to a previously U.S.-backed 28-point proposal. According to Zelenskiy, the draft has already been significantly revised in recent talks between U.S. and Ukrainian delegations in Geneva; Kyiv insists the updated version better reflects its core interests.

While Kyiv has committed to a “constructive, honest and prompt” negotiation process with Washington, Zelenskiy emphasized that the final agreement must protect Ukraine’s sovereignty and dignity hinting that some sensitive issues remain unresolved.

As Ukraine braces for these high-stakes talks, the world watches closely: the outcome could reshape the trajectory of the war, influence regional security, and determine whether diplomacy can finally offer a way out of years of bloodshed.
