New Delhi: Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang will not attend the India AI Impact Summit scheduled to take place next week in New Delhi, the company said on Saturday.
Huang had been expected to headline the event, which will be opened by Prime minister Narendra Modi and attended by global technology leaders, policymakers and industry experts. Nvidia representatives said the visit was cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. He was also scheduled to speak to journalists ahead of the summit.
His absence is seen as significant because Nvidia is the world’s leading supplier of advanced chips used to power artificial intelligence systems and data centers. Huang is widely regarded as one of the most influential voices shaping the global AI industry.
The summit is part of India’s broader push to strengthen its position in artificial intelligence. The country is emerging as an important destination for AI investment due to its large digital population, growing technology sector and vast pool of engineering talent.
Despite Huang’s absence, the event is expected to draw major participation from government leaders and technology companies. Observers are watching for policy announcements, investment plans and partnerships that could shape India’s AI future.
Huang has previously encouraged India to build its own AI capabilities and has said artificial intelligence can support economic growth and job creation. His remarks have reinforced India’s ambition to become a global hub for AI development and adoption.
