US fighter jet crashes in Kuwait; pilots eject safely

Kuwait City: A United States Air Force fighter jet crashed in Kuwait on Monday, but both crew members survived after ejecting safely before the aircraft hit the ground.

The aircraft, identified as an F 15E Strike Eagle, went down in a desert area west of Al Jahra during what officials believe was a routine operation. Witness videos shared online showed the jet descending rapidly before crashing.

Both the pilot and the weapons systems officer ejected in time and were later assisted by responders and local residents. No fatalities or civilian injuries have been reported.

The cause of the crash has not yet been confirmed. Military authorities have launched an investigation, with early assessments suggesting the possibility of mechanical failure or loss of control during flight. Officials have not confirmed any other theories.

The incident comes at a time of heightened military alert across the Gulf region amid rising tensions linked to the ongoing conflict involving Iran and its regional rivals. Kuwait hosts several United States military facilities and plays a key role in regional security operations.

The F 15E Strike Eagle is a twin engine combat aircraft used for strike missions and air superiority operations. Despite the loss of the aircraft, the safe ejection of the crew is being seen as a positive outcome.

Further details are expected once the investigation progresses.
