Israel strikes Tehran infrastructure as regional tensions rise

Tehran: Israel carried out new airstrikes on key infrastructure in Iran’s capital Tehran on Friday as the conflict between the two countries continued to intensify and spread across the Middle East.

According to reports, Israeli forces targeted military and government related facilities in Tehran as part of an ongoing campaign aimed at weakening Iran’s missile capabilities. Officials said the strikes are focused on destroying missile launch systems and reducing Iran’s ability to carry out large scale attacks against Israel.

The latest attacks come after several days of heavy fighting. Reports say that more than 200 locations in and around Tehran have been hit in recent strikes, including military bases and security installations.

Iran has responded with missile and drone attacks directed at Israel and at locations across the region where United States forces are present. The retaliation has raised concerns that the conflict could expand into a broader regional confrontation.

Saudi Arabia said its air defence systems intercepted and destroyed several drones during the latest wave of attacks. Authorities said the drones were shot down before they could reach important targets inside the kingdom.

The ongoing conflict has also raised fears about the safety of energy infrastructure in the Gulf region. Earlier reports indicated that Iranian drones targeted oil related facilities in Saudi Arabia, including areas near major refineries.

Security analysts warn that the war is entering a new phase as both sides increase their military operations. While Israeli strikes have damaged many Iranian missile sites, Iran still has the capacity to launch drone and missile attacks across the region.

The escalating confrontation has already begun to affect global energy markets and regional security, with several countries closely monitoring developments and calling for restraint to prevent the crisis from widening further.
