According to the Holy See Press Office, Pope extended his wishes for the Easter season and assured the Ukrainian president of his spiritual support for all those suffering because of the war.

During the conversation, both leaders reflected on the difficult humanitarian situation in the country. They stressed the urgent need to ensure that aid reaches people affected by the conflict, especially those facing hardship and displacement.

They also spoke about ongoing humanitarian efforts, including initiatives aimed at securing the release of prisoners. The discussion highlighted the importance of continued cooperation to address the human cost of the war.

The call ended with a renewed expression of hope that the violence will come to an end soon. The Pope emphasised that with the commitment of the international community, it is possible to achieve a just and lasting peace for Ukraine.
