Mumbai: Meta Platforms has joined hands with Reliance Industries to establish a large artificial intelligence data centre in India, marking a significant step in the country's growing ambitions to become a global hub for AI technology and digital infrastructure.
The new facility will be built in Jamnagar in the western state of Gujarat and will be developed by Reliance Industries. Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, is expected to lease the facility as part of its efforts to expand its global AI infrastructure and meet the rising demand for advanced computing power.
