Kochi: Kerala Police has introduced D-Safe program to ensure children’s safety in cyberspace. The initial stage of training is for the student police cadres, teachers and parents. The target is to train 1000 parents per district in the first phase.

Ever since online classes began, children are made to use the digital platform on a daily basis. There are limitations to how much a parent can observe their child during these hours. Digital Safe, called D-Safe, is designed to protect children from falling into traps in the digital space.

The main aim of this program is to build an online culture that would enhance the confidence of the children using such platforms. This is implemented via the cooperation of social policing like Student Police and child-friendly police stations.

The three-day classes for this program will have five batches each holding a total of 200 people. The master trainer will be those who have acquired training at the Kerala Police Academy.

Kids will be protected

“The D-Safe program is to ensure, protect and provide practical cyber knowledge for the safety of children. It’s a measure to give useful help in this field”, says IGP Vijayan, Student Police Nodal Officer.
