Mumbai : The fees for the Covid test at Mumbai airport has been reduced. The cost for the Rapid PCR test has been reduced from 4500 to Rs. 3900. The cost for the RTPCR test is Rs.600. The airport has 100 registration counters, 60 sampling booths and 100 rapid PCR machines, officials said.
The Tamil Nadu government had tightened controls following the discovery of two Omicron cases in the country. Madurai Collector Aneesh Sekhar has announced that the unvaccinated will not be allowed to enter malls, shopping complexes and other public places from next week. People are given a week to take at least one dose of the vaccine.
Meanwhile, Covid was confirmed in three international passengers including a child, who arrived in Tamil Nadu from Singapore and England. Samples were sent for genome sequencing to see if they have been infected with the new strain of corona virus.
Karnataka, which had detected two Omicron cases, announced similar restrictions. The state has made two-dose vaccination mandatory for access to public places such as malls, theaters and movie halls.
