'Shalom World Asia-Africa' from March 25; God's own 'Shalom World' now in five continents!

Texas / McAllen: 'Shalom World', the English Channel that showered spiritual blessings in North America, Europe and Australia, is now available in Asia and Africa.

Shalom World Asia's Fifth Channel, 'Shalom World Asia-Africa', will open to viewers on March 25 at 6.30 pm Indian time (9.00 pm US time, 1.00 pm European time) and 12.00 pm Australian time) on the blessed day of the ‘Feast of Annunciation’. With the opening of the new channel, Shalom World will make its presence known across the five continents. Currently, Shalom World broadcasts in the US, Europe and Australia. The SW PRAYER channel, aired all through day and night, was also launched last year, broadcasting live liturgical services, including the Holy Mass.

The launch of the new channel, to be held during a humble function, will begin with its dedication to the Holy Mother of God. Further, a visual presentation will be aired on how the 'Shalom World' channel, first launched in the United States, spread to various parts of the world.

Cardinal Luis Antonio Gokim Tagle, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples; Cardinal Charles Bo Bishop, president of the Federation of Asian Bishops' Conferences and Archbishop of Yangon, Myanmar; Bishop Sebastian Francis, president of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei; Bishop Paul Hinder, Vicar Apostolic in the Apostolic Vicariate of Southern Arabia; South African Bishop Sithembele Anton Sipuka and Bishop Giorgio Marengo, I.M.C., Apostolic prefect of the Apostolic Prefecture of Ulaanbaatar, in Mongolia will then greet the audience. In addition to introducing the major programs on the channel, the theme song for 'Shalom World Asia-Africa' will also be released.

Shalom's visual media ministry, which spreads the good news of the Gospel to Keralites around the world, began broadcasting on April 27, 2014, to the American Continent.

'Shalom World' began its operations on the feast day of Divine Mercy, by telecasting live the Canonization of Blessed John Paul II and John XXIII from the Vatican. After North America, the project to spread the channels presence to all continents, progressed gradually. It is the fourth phase of the project that has now materialised.

The second phase, 'Shalom World' Europe, was launched and aired on Easter Day, March 12, 2016. The third phase, 'Shalom World Australia' was launched on January 26, 2018. Like the North American, European and Australian channels, the Asia-Africa channel will be broadcast on IST (Indian Standard Time) schedule, comprising of programs from Asia and Africa.

The next goal of 'Shalom Media' is to turn into reality distinct channels for Asia and Africa.

'Shalom World' features a wide variety of programs, including sermons, documentaries, talk shows, music videos, concerts, films that promote moral values, and animated programs for children, all of which contribute to spiritual growth.

Programs that bring the missionary activities around the world to the attention of the general public, as well as programs that inspire support for missionary activities are aired by the channel. Programs include live broadcasts of Papal programs from the Vatican, Foreign tours of the Pope, coverage of events including the Marian Conference, the Divine Mercy Conference, the Eucharistic Congress, the Charismatic Congress, Pro Life Rallies, and the Youth and Adult Conference.

Shalom World, also won the Gabrielle Award for Best Catholic Channel in North America in 2020 by the blessings of the Lord and further became the official media partner of the Panama-hosted World Youth Day 2019. After a gap of over a century, the channel also had the opportunity to be a media partner for a number of initiatives, including 'Adoremus 2018', the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage and Congress in UK, 'World Family Reunion 2018' hosted by Ireland, and the 500th anniversary (500 YOC) of the Philippine Church.

Shalom World, which does not rely on advertisements, is supported by the members of SPF (Shalom Peace Fellowship). Shalom Media USA is headquartered in McAllen, Texas. In addition to US and Canada, there are production centers in the UK, Ireland, Australia and Singapore to produce programs. Along with the featured programs, the ‘SW NEWS’ (Shalom World News) bulletins are also aired from Monday to Friday at 9.00 pm. There is also a program segment for children between the ages of five and 13, called 'SW PALS', aired daily from 4.00 pm to 6.00 pm.

Shalom ministers around the world are prayerfully acknowledging the entry of the 'Shalom World' channel into Asia, the birthplace of the Church of Christ, and to Africa, the birthplace of many saints of the first centuries. Plethora of opportunities are being opened for evangelization in the continents of Asia and Africa, which can be described as the largest missionary land of the Church.

Challenges does not matter as is evident from the wonderful ways that God led the channel in North America, Europe, and Australia. Holding on to the God-fearing spirit of Shalom Ministries, Shalom World is preparing for the missionary missions to be carried out on the continents where more than 75% of the world's population resides.
