India is the voice of developing countries: Union Minister Piyush Goyal in Rome

Rome : Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, recently described India as the "voice of developing countries" during a Gala Dinner in Rome.

He said that India, being the voice of the less developed countries, has not only provided a better life for its people but has also contributed to a better future for people in other parts of the world. The Union Minister stated that India now represents the global south and highlighted how India offers an oasis of opportunity with 1.4 billion people aspiring for a better quality of life.

He also mentioned how the government over the last decade has focused on providing basic amenities that are required by any person, such as food, proper clothing, proper shelter, healthcare, and education. Additionally, Goyal spoke on connectivity and mentioned that India now has nearly 800 million internet users and that 4G penetration is throughout the nation, with 5G to be launched soon.

During his official visit to France and Italy, Goyal also invited participants and delegates to leverage the opportunities that India has to offer. At the India-France Business Summit and CEOs Roundtable in Paris, Goyal addressed over 50 CEOs from Indian and French companies, and sectors such as agriculture, tourism, defense, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and aerospace were represented. The Union Minister highlighted the huge delta of opportunities in India and invited the CEOs to leverage them.
