Marianites @ UAE – A 15 Year Evolution of Friendship
The word Alumni is a synonym for Friendship, Togetherness and Nostalgia…its also not just a title, it’s the lifelong commitment to the growth and success of the organization.
The UAE chapter for Marianites was an idea kindled by Rev Fr Roy Abraham way back in 2007. This was also the first ever Alumni Chapter formed by the alumni of Marian College in any location. The UAE Chapter was inaugurated by college Principal Rev. Fr. Dr. A. J George on 12th January 2007 at Dubai. This was the first ever alumni meet in Dubai . Though numbers were something that you would boast of, our first meeting once again drove home the eternal message of how small could be beautiful. The first meet consisted of 21 alumni and their family but over a decade and half the Chapter strength multiplied in numbers close to 350 alumni all across various parts of the Emirate.
The vision for UAE chapter was to enhance relationship among the alumni and to strengthen the bond between the alumni and their alma mater. The chapter is actively involved in various activities that benefit the alumni community as well as the society at large. The chapter at regular intervals organizes meetings, get-togethers, and social events to provide opportunities for the alumni to network and socialize. These events also serve as a platform for alumni to share their experiences and insights with each other. The chapter have been actively involved in supporting various social causes including medical support to the needy, scholarships to the college etc since its inception.
The chapter is currently headed by Criss Jose (President - BBA 2000) and Emil Chandy (Secretary – 2005) both having proven track record in leadership roles across their respective organizations and the chapter activities.
