How to Eliminate Your Personal Information from Google Search Results?

You have the option to eliminate your phone number, email address, and home address from the Google Search results that surface when you enter your name.

This feature serves as a valuable tool for reducing the visibility of some of your personal information within Google Search results. It's important to note that this action does not entail the complete removal of the information from the entire internet or the specific website where it is present. Instead, it makes the information less accessible, as it no longer appears in search results associated with your name.

It's worth mentioning that the "Remove this result" function is currently in its Beta version, and there are a few ways to initiate a removal request.

Here are the steps to follow if you want to remove your personal information from Google Search:

1. Initiate a search for your name on Google.
2. Next to the website containing the information you wish to remove, click on the three vertical dots.
3. Click "Remove result" located in the top right corner of the menu.
4. You'll be presented with five options. If you're targeting your phone number, email, or home address, select "It shows my personal contact info." For other requests, click the arrow adjacent to the respective categories.
5. After reviewing Google's terms and signing in to your Google account, click the right-facing arrow and proceed by clicking "Continue" three times.
6. Enter your name and the relevant contact information you want to have removed. For instance, if you're looking to erase your personal phone number, ensure it is included. Then, click "Continue."
7. Click "Send" to submit your removal request.
8. To return to the Google Search page, you can click "I'm done."
9. If you want to review your removal requests, click on the "Go to removal requests" option.

Google will notify you of the removal decision via the email address you have on file. You can also check the status of the request in your Google activity, although it may take a few days for the process to be completed.

To track your request's progress, access the "Data & privacy" settings within your Google Account. Scroll down and click on "My activity." Next, click the three dots located in the search bar and choose "Other activity." From there, select "Manage results about you" to view the status of your request.

Additionally, you can utilize this link to submit a request for a broader range of reasons. If your objective is to have personal information removed, opt for the "Content contains your personal information" option.

This pathway can be employed for various types of personal information, including but not limited to Social Security and bank account numbers.
