New Delhi - On Saturday, the Pakistan Army successfully thwarted a terror attack during the early hours at the Mianwali Training Air Base in Punjab province, resulting in the elimination of nine terrorists.
A group of nine heavily armed terrorists launched an assault on a Pakistan Air Force training base in Punjab province on Saturday morning. Following a successful operation to clear and secure the area, the army confirmed that all the attackers had been neutralized.
The operation was initiated to eliminate any potential threats in the vicinity, following the failed terrorist attack on the base earlier that day, as stated by the Army.
In addition to the elimination of the terrorists, the Pakistan Army reported damage to three grounded aircraft and a fuel tanker during the attack.
The responsibility for the assault on the air base has been claimed by the Tehreek-e-Jihad, an Islamist terrorist group newly affiliated with the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). This group has previously carried out several high-profile attacks in Pakistan, including the killing of 12 soldiers at a military base in Balochistan province in July.
Furthermore, on Friday, fourteen Pakistani soldiers lost their lives in a terrorist ambush that targeted two vehicles transporting security forces from Pasni to the Ormara area in the Gwadar district of Balochistan province.
