KCBC Media Awards 2023 announced by KCBC Media Commission

Kochi- The KCBC Media Commission announced the KCBC Media Awards 2023 for individuals who have made significant contributions to various fields of culture and media. 

 Professor M. Thomas Mathew, Rev. Dr. Thomas Moolayil, Sheela Tommy, Pauly Valsan, Abhijith Joseph, and George Kanakkassery along with Professor K. V. Thomas Kaimalayil, were chosen as the recipients recognized of these awards. 

The KCBC Media Cultural Award was presented to Professor M. Thomas Mathew, a versatile figure who has made substantial contributions in various roles, including as a critic, orator, and educator, in the Malayalam language over the past century, elevating it to new heights.

Rev. Dr. Thomas Moolayil received the KCBC Media Philosopher-Scientist Award for his extensive contributions to the language's transformation, encompassing his work in the field of Malayalam script education and language revitalization.

George Kanakkassery, who has been a prominent figure in the state and national literary and cultural scene, having won accolades from various institutions, was honored with the KCBC Guru Pooja Award.

Sheela Tommy received the KCBC Literary Award for her novel "Valli," which made a significant impact on the literary world.

Pauly Valsan, known for her remarkable acting in theater and cinema, was awarded the KCBC Media Award for her outstanding contributions in the field of drama and cinema.

Abhijith Joseph, the young talent, was awarded the KCBC Media Youth Talent Award for his significant achievements in the field of direction.

The awards will be presented during a conference scheduled for December 8th at Palarivattom. The Secretary of the KCBC Commission, Rev. Dr. Abraham Irimpinikunal, confirmed the distribution of the awards during this event.
