Israeli Military Accuses Hamas of Misconduct at Gaza's Shifa Hospital

JERUSALEM - Israeli authorities intensified their claims of Hamas misconduct at Gaza's largest hospital on Sunday, alleging the execution of a captive soldier and the presence of two foreign hostages amid their ongoing offensive.

Al Shifa Hospital, once a refuge for Palestinian war refugees, has been evacuating amid Israeli efforts to root out hidden Hamas facilities.

Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, chief spokesperson for the Israeli military, asserted that Noa Marciano, a 19-year-old Israeli soldier, was taken by Hamas inside Shifa and subsequently murdered, contradicting Hamas' account of her death in an airstrike. The military also claimed that two foreign hostages were brought to Shifa by Hamas gunmen.

Hamas has not responded to these accusations. The Israeli military released videos, including one purportedly showing a tunnel beneath Shifa, which Hamas denies using civilian infrastructure for its tunnel network.

Gaza health ministry director Mounir El Barsh dismissed the tunnel claim as a "pure lie." The situation remains tense amid conflicting narratives and escalating hostilities.
