Pope Francis’ condition remains stable as he continues to recover at Rome’s Gemelli hospital, where he has been receiving treatment for bilateral pneumonia since February 14. The Holy See Press Office provided an update on Friday evening, confirming improvements in Pope’s respiratory and motor functions.
According to the statement, Pope no longer requires mechanical ventilation at night and now receives high-flow oxygenation through nasal cannulas. During the day, his dependence on high-flow oxygen continues to decrease. Despite these positive developments, doctors have not yet determined when he will be discharged from the hospital.
On Saturday, Pope Francis did not receive any visitors, spending his day in prayer, therapy, and work-related activities. Meanwhile, preparations for the Sunday Angelus remain unchanged, with the Holy See Press Office stating that it will proceed as in previous weeks. Any modifications will be communicated in an update expected on Sunday.
The next medical bulletin on the Pope’s condition is anticipated no earlier than Monday.
