US Expresses Solidarity with India, Demands Justice for Victims of Pahalgam Terror Attack

Washington, D.C.: The United States has reaffirmed its strong support for India, denouncing the Pahalgam terrorist attack in the harshest terms and calling for the culprits behind the barbaric violence to be swiftly brought to justice.

In a formal statement issued on Thursday, State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce declared, “The United States stands shoulder to shoulder with India and unequivocally condemns all forms of terrorism. This brutal act must not go unanswered.”

Bruce extended condolences on behalf of the U.S. government, stating, “Our thoughts are with the families of those who lost their lives, and we wish a full recovery to the injured. Justice must be served for this horrific tragedy.”

The assault in Pahalgam, which left 26 innocent civilians dead—most of them tourists—has shaken the region and heightened diplomatic tensions between India and Pakistan.

When asked whether the U.S. believes Pakistan may have had a role in the attack, Bruce declined to provide specifics, citing the sensitive nature of ongoing developments. “This is a fluid and fast-evolving situation. We are monitoring it very closely,” she said, adding that the U.S. maintains its long-standing policy of neutrality regarding the status of Jammu and Kashmir.

Pressed further on whether former President Donald Trump had offered to mediate between the two nations during his previous term, Bruce chose not to elaborate, saying, “I won’t be making any additional comments on that at this time.”

The Biden administration’s response underscores a continued global consensus against terrorism and reinforces Washington’s commitment to standing with democratic allies during times of crisis.
