FBI Chief Kash Patel Strongly Condemns Pahalgam Terror Attack, Calls for Global Action Against Terrorism

The serene landscape of Pahalgam, known for its breathtaking natural beauty, was brutally shattered on April 22, 2025, when terrorists launched a heinous attack on Hindu tourists in the Baisaran Valley. The assault, which claimed 26 innocent lives and left over 20 wounded, has sent shockwaves across India and the global community. In a strong show of solidarity, FBI Director Kash Patel — the first Indian-American to head the agency — unequivocally condemned the attack, terming it "a chilling reminder of the evils of terrorism."

FBI Offers Full Support to India

In a heartfelt message, Kash Patel expressed deep condolences to the victims’ families and reiterated the FBI’s unwavering support to India.

“The FBI sends our condolences to all the victims of the recent terrorist attack in Kashmir — and will continue offering our full support to the Indian government,”  Patel said, underlining that terrorism knows no borders and requires a unified global response. He praised the Indian security forces for their bravery and stressed the need for continued international cooperation to dismantle terror networks.

Widespread International Condemnation

The attack has drawn widespread outrage beyond Indian borders. Tulsi Gabbard, the U.S. Director of National Intelligence, extended America's full support to India, assuring collaboration in bringing the perpetrators to justice.

The U.S. State Department echoed similar sentiments, calling for those responsible to be held accountable without delay. Across various global capitals, leaders condemned the barbarity of the attack, recognizing the urgent necessity for stronger counter-terrorism mechanisms.

India Points to Pakistan-Backed Groups

In the aftermath of the attack, Indian authorities swiftly pointed fingers at The Resistance Front (TRF), a known proxy of the Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba. Though TRF initially claimed responsibility, it later retracted — a move experts interpret as an attempt to escape mounting international pressure.

The revelation has further strained the already fraught relationship between India and Pakistan. In response, India took serious diplomatic steps, including suspending the decades-old Indus Waters Treaty and ordering the expulsion of Pakistani diplomats.

Nationwide Grief and Anger in India

The Pahalgam tragedy has ignited a wave of grief and anger across India. From candlelight vigils to massive street protests, the Indian public has been vocal in its demand for justice.

President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi both issued stern statements, condemning the "cowardly attack" and promising that those behind the bloodshed would not be spared.

Prime Minister Modi, in particular, emphasized that India’s fight against terrorism would only intensify, asserting, “We will neither forgive nor forget.

Global Call for United Action Against Terrorism

The Pahalgam massacre has once again highlighted the interconnected nature of terrorism, transcending national boundaries. Kash Patel’s strong words resonate with a growing sentiment worldwide — that terrorism must be confronted through international solidarity, intelligence sharing, and relentless pursuit of justice.

As investigations continue and security operations intensify, the world watches closely. The Pahalgam attack stands as a painful reminder: the war against terrorism is far from over, and it demands unyielding vigilance from the global community.
