Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), one of India’s leading public sector undertakings in the defence sector, has announced that its board will meet on June 27, 2025, to consider the final dividend for the financial year 2024–25. This upcoming board meeting will also review the company’s financial performance for the quarter ending June 30, 2025.
HAL has already rewarded shareholders with an interim dividend of ₹25 per share in February 2025. If the final dividend follows the trend of previous years, shareholders may expect a substantial payout. In the last two financial years, HAL declared annual dividends totaling ₹35 per share, split into two separate payouts. Given this pattern and HAL’s robust financials, the total dividend for FY25 could surpass previous years, especially with the strong interim amount already disbursed.
The trading window for insiders and connected persons has been closed since June 19, 2025, and will reopen 48 hours after the company declares its Q1 FY26 results. This standard regulatory measure ensures compliance during the sensitive pre-announcement period.
On the day the board meeting was announced, HAL’s share price saw a moderate increase of nearly 1 percent, opening at ₹4,948.75. The stock has shown impressive long-term growth, delivering over 28 percent returns in the last three months and more than 1,280 percent over five years. However, the stock has experienced some correction recently, falling by around 8 percent over the past 12 months.
With a market capitalization hovering around ₹3.27 lakh crore, HAL remains a heavyweight in India’s defence and aerospace manufacturing space. The company is widely viewed as a PSU compounder due to its consistent financial performance and strong order book, especially under the government's "Make in India" initiative.
Brokerages such as Jefferies and Antique remain bullish on HAL, with price targets ranging between ₹6,475 and ₹7,500, citing its leadership in domestic defence production and sustained earnings visibility.
Investors are advised to keep an eye on the outcome of the June 27 board meeting for the final dividend announcement, along with the record date and payment schedule that will follow. The decision could further enhance HAL’s reputation as a consistent wealth creator for long-term shareholders.
