Sharjah: The Emirate of Sharjah is in mourning following the death of Sheikh Sultan bin Khalid bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, a prominent member of the royal family. The official announcement came from the office of Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, on Monday, September 22.
Sheikh Sultan bin Khalid’s funeral prayer is scheduled for Tuesday, September 23, at 10:00 a.m. at King Faisal Mosque, one of Sharjah’s most revered places of worship. Following the prayer, he will be laid to rest at Al Jabil Cemetery, the final resting place for members of the royal family and other dignitaries.
In honor of the late royal, an official mourning period of three days has been declared, starting Tuesday. During this period, the Sharjah community and officials are observing a time of reflection and condolence. Tributes and condolences for men will be received at the majlis of Sheikh Faisal bin Khalid bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, located in the Al Rumaila area of Sharjah, for three consecutive days.
