Former cosmetics entrepreneur prepares for Catholic priesthood after life changing faith journey

California: Scott Vincent Borba, one of the co founders of the global beauty company e.l.f. Cosmetics, is preparing to become a Catholic priest after leaving behind a successful business career and a life connected to Hollywood and the beauty industry.

Borba is expected to be ordained as a priest for the Diocese of Fresno on May 23, according to reports from Catholic media outlets. His journey from entrepreneur to priesthood has attracted attention around the world because of the dramatic change in his life.

Before entering the seminary, Borba spent many years working in the beauty and entertainment industries. He was known as an esthetician, businessman, author, actor, singer, and model. He helped launch e.l.f. Cosmetics, a company that later became one of the most recognized beauty brands internationally.

Despite his success, Borba has spoken openly about feeling empty and unsatisfied during much of his earlier life. In interviews, he explained that fame, wealth, and luxury did not bring him lasting peace. He said he often felt that God was calling him toward a different path.

According to Borba, his desire to become a priest began during childhood. He recalled attending Mass with his mother when he was around ten years old. During the service, his mother asked whether he would ever want to become a priest. Borba later described the moment as deeply spiritual and said it remained in his heart for many years.

Even though he continued to build a successful career, he said the call to serve God never completely disappeared. Over time, he began to rethink the direction of his life and eventually decided to leave much of his business work behind.

Reports say Borba later donated a large part of his wealth to charitable causes and entered seminary formation in California. During his years of preparation for priesthood, he also worked with the homeless and served alongside the Missionaries of Charity in San Francisco.

Borba has frequently spoken about the importance of prayer and his devotion to the Virgin Mary during his spiritual journey. He said his faith helped him discover a deeper sense of purpose and joy than he had experienced during his years in business.

His story has inspired many Catholics and social media users who see his life as an example of personal transformation and spiritual renewal. Many people have reacted positively to his decision, saying it shows that success and money alone cannot fully satisfy the human heart.

The upcoming ordination is expected to draw strong interest from both the Catholic community and people familiar with Borba’s earlier work in the beauty industry.
