CBCI President Mar Andrews Thazhath meets PM Modi; Pope’s visit to India will be expedited, assures PM

New Delhi: CBCI President Mar Andrews Thazhath met Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday evening. Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, also attended the meeting.

The Prime Minister gave assurance that the visit of Pope Francis to India will be expedited, said Mar Andrews Thazhath. He also informed media that Issues like buffer zone were not discussed during the meeting.


General issues concerning the Christian community in India were also discussed during the meeting.

The Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (C.B.C.I.) is the permanent association of the Catholic Bishops of India.

The meeting between the CBCI President and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is of utmost importance.
