Bengaluru - Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar shared a preview of the proposed "Bengaluru Skydeck" project on Tuesday. This project, if realized, would result in India's tallest viewing tower, as stated by the minister. The proposal has been put forward by the Austrian company Coop Himmelb(l)au in collaboration with the World Design Organisation (WDO).
The exact location for this ambitious tower has not been determined yet. Minister Shivakumar, who also serves as the Bengaluru Development Minister, has requested state officials to assess the project's financial feasibility and identify a suitable piece of land spanning eight to ten acres for the construction of the viewing tower.

The concept video shared on social media platform X showcased the project, generating significant interest and mixed opinions among users. The "Bengaluru Skydeck" is envisioned to be a 250-meter-tall structure inspired by the banyan tree, featuring intertwined elements from its base to the top. This skyscraper will consist of three main components: the base, the trunk, and the flower. It will include a viewing deck at the top, as well as amenities such as eateries, a shopping center, a theater, a sky garden, and various recreational facilities.
