The conclusion of the Fifth Gulf Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services Conference took place at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Dubai. The conference, held from December 1st to 3rd, saw participation from over two thousand faithful representing various Gulf countries.
Charis Director Fr. Michael Fernandes welcomed the conference participants, and Dr. Joseph Lukose CNSC UAE coordinator, presented the report. Aarogya Raj, the program coordinator, expressed gratitude.
Classes were led by Archbishop Francis Kallist from India, Chev. Cyril John from Charis International, Anthras Arango from Charis International, Bob Canton from the USA, Ajin, the Charis India Youth Coordinator, C. Pauline from India, and Dr. Joseph Lukose from the UAE. Bishop Paolo Martinelli, Bishop Aldo Baradi, and Archbishop Zakhia El Khasis, the Vatican Ambassador to the UAE, presided over the Mass on various days.
Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican Secretary of State, surprised attendees by making an unannounced appearance at the conference. He conveyed a special blessing from the Holy Father. The closing assembly included the distribution of prizes to the national-level winners of the Inter-Parish Bible Quiz. Former Chairman Jo Kavalam, Fr. Michael Fernandes, and dignitaries who conducted the classes were honoured with special mementos for their contributions to the charismatic renewal efforts.
Fr Michael, Fr Varghees Kozhippadan, Dr Joseph Lukose, Clitson Joseph, Aarogyaraj, Edward Joseph, Raji Xavier, Ruby, etc. presided over the program. Adoration, devotional bands, workshops, sermons etc helped the participants in spiritual awakening.
