Sydney: Citigroup has appointed Harish Raman as the new head of its equity capital markets (ECM) execution, origination, and solutions business for Asia North, Asia South, and Australia, according to a memo obtained by Reuters on Monday. Raman will continue to hold his current role as head of equity capital markets syndicate for Asia.

He takes over from Udhay Furtado, who is leaving Citigroup after six years in Hong Kong to move to Singapore with his family. Raman has been with Citigroup since 2011 and previously led Asia equity-linked origination at UBS.

Kenneth Chow will maintain his role as Citigroup's head of ECM origination and products for Asia North, Australia, and Asia South. A Citigroup spokesperson confirmed the details in the memo.
