High Court represses singe bench’s order, allows survey on K-Rail

Kochi: The division bench of the high court repressed the single bench order blocking the survey of K-Rail. The bench headed by the Chief Justice passed the order on an appeal filed by the government.

The details of the preparation of the DPR (Detailed Project Report) were also absent. With this, there will be no impediment for the government to go ahead with the survey process. The order was granted on appeal by the state government.

Postponement of the social impact survey will delay the project, which will increase the cost of the project. On appeal, the government had sought to repress the High Court's single bench order directing it to explain the preparation of the DPR. This was approved by the Division Bench.

The petitioners against Silver Line have not objected to the DPR of the scheme. The single bench references to the DPR go beyond the consideration of the petition. On appeal, the government explained that it should not be compelled to comply with the order requiring DPR procedures to be explained in this case.
