Eight year old Mexican boy expresses desire to be a priest in reality show

Mexico City: A viral video of a Mexican boy expressing his desire to become a priest like Pope John Paul II on a children's reality show is capturing hearts around the world.

The words of eight-year-old Luis Ernesto Gonzalez on the program 'La Voz Kids', the Spanish version of "The Voice Kids' astounded judges and spectators alike.

In response to judge Carlos Rivera's question about what he wants to be when he grows up, Luis answered quickly, "a singer and a priest like Saint John Paul II."

The judge Carlos, recalled that he too wanted to be a priest and a singer, when he was young. He added that he used to carry pictures of saints in his pocket.

Luis Ernesto promptly said that he too carried pictures of Saints.

When the judge, Melindi asked him why Luis wanted to be a priest, the boy replied that he wanted people to be good and always prayed for peace in the world.

The video has been garnering views and a lot of attention in social media. Saint John Paul II has visited Mexico five times during his pontificate.
