Reparata was a virgin martyr from Caesarea, in Palestine. Her most credible source of information was an unverified legend that said she was a twenty-year-old girl in Caesarea who was persecuted for being a Christian during Emperor Trajanus Decius's persecutions. She was tortured and thrown into a furnace, where she miraculously survived. Despite this, she refused to offer herself as a sacrifice to the pagan gods, and the Romans beheaded her.
