Kottayam: A delegation from the Archdiocese will depart today for the Vatican to attend the cardinal ordination ceremony of 21 individuals, including Mar George Koovakkattu, Archbishop of Changanassery.

The delegation will be led by Archbishop Mar Thomas Tharayil, accompanied by Archbishop Mar Joseph Perunthottam, Curia members Mon. Antony Ethakattu, Mon. Varghese Thanamavungal, Mon. John Thekkekkara, Chancellor Rev. Dr. George Puthumanamuzhi, Rev. Dr. Isaac Alencherry, Procurator Fr. Cherian Karikombil, Pastoral Council Secretary Dr. Rekha Mathews, PRO Adv. Joji Chirayil, Fr. Joseph Vaniyapurakkal, and Rev. Dr. James Palakkal.

On the 8th, the new cardinals will join the Pope for Holy Mass at 1 pm Indian time, with Archbishops Mar Thomas Tharayil and Mar Joseph Perunthottam, along with the priests from the Archdiocese, as co-celebrants. A meeting for the Changanassery Athirupata priests and monks will be held in Rome on the 9th, convened by Mar Thomas Tharayil, bringing together priests and monks from around the world in celebration of the cardinal ordination.
