India urges its citizens to leave Iran as security concerns grow

New Delhi: The Indian Embassy in Tehran has issued an urgent advisory asking Indian citizens to leave Iran immediately as tensions and security concerns continue to rise in the region.

In its latest message, the embassy advised all Indian nationals to use available commercial flights and other transport options to exit the country at the earliest. The advisory comes amid fears that the security situation could deteriorate further.

Indian citizens who are unable to leave right away have been urged to remain cautious, avoid crowded places and protests, and stay in close contact with the embassy. Authorities also advised people to follow official updates and register their presence with the mission if they plan to remain in the country.

The embassy has released emergency helpline numbers and assistance channels to support Indian nationals requiring help. Officials said the advisory is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of citizens in case the situation worsens.

The warning follows increasing tensions in the Middle East and growing uncertainty over regional stability. India has previously advised against non essential travel to Iran and has been monitoring the situation closely.

Thousands of Indian nationals including students, workers and pilgrims are currently living in Iran. The government continues to track their safety while urging them to remain alert and follow official guidance.
