Thiruvananthapuram : V Sivankutty, Minister for Education and Labour said that Omicron related cases are under control in the state. In the current scenario, there would be no impediment to the opening of schools in the state. Schools were opened in consultation with the health department. The Minister said that a decision would be taken in case of an emergency.
The state government is of the view that examinations and classes should be conducted as held during the pre-covid period. SSLC, Plus Two, Plus One and improvement examinations were also conducted on the basis of this decision. He added that these were implemented in collaboration with the public, parents, teachers and local bodies.
Meanwhile, the night curfew imposed in the state in the wake of the Omicron situation in the country will come into effect from today. Restrictions ae in place from 10pm to 5am. Stricter restrictions are in place on religious, community, political, cultural and social gatherings, including those held in churches and other public places from December 30 to January 2. In addition, those who go out for emergencies should carry a self-declaration.
